Pastor Garland was born, raised, cultivated, educated, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. He is married to a humble, but powerful, spontaneous, creative and anointed First Lady (Elect) Dorphene R. Garland. This marriage has been blessed with four beautiful and talented children: Randy, DeAndre, Mark & CeAira. Pastor Garland is a devoted husband and dedicated father to his children. He graduated from Anacostia High School in Washington, DC and has matriculated toward earning a degree at the Washington Theology Saturday College at Howard University. He also studied Rightly Dividing at the Bible Way Institute taught by Apostle James Silver. As a young man he was truly tested and tried by the enemy, but God had Pastor Garland in his arms. Pastor Garland had a divine calling on his life at a young age but he did not understand the manifestation of God's plan so he ran from his calling until he was led to Prayer Temple Apostolic Church, Inc. where the Pastor was the late honorable Bishop Gary Richardson. After attending the church services for some years and receiving the word of God in his heart, he received the Holy Ghost in his youth. When the Lord revealed that he wanted him to preach, he immediately conveyed this to the late Pastor Bishop Gary Richardson. After counseling and seeking God, Pastor Gary Richardson began to teach and nourish Elder Garland more in depth the ways of God. Some years later Pastor Garland, which was a minister at the time, began to preach on 1340 WYCB AM radio broadcast, and with a bullhorn in his hand on street corners. He was led by God to street-preach in notorious neighborhoods but he was protected by the power of God. Pastor Garland also was led to teach at various prison ministries where inmates gave there lives to Jesus and souls were delivered and set free. Some years later Pastor Garland was ordained an Elder at the Bible Way Temple and soon after was led to pastor his own church with the leading of the Lord. He is the honorable Pastor and Founder of the Greater Faith Bible Way Church, Ministries World Wide, Inc. Pastor Garland is a man of Vision, Faith, and Integrity. He respects his calling and takes joy in being a servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We walk by Faith, not by sight. (II Corinthians 5:7) |
