Garland CHURCH HISTORY Several years ago Pastor Archie Garland was led of the Lord to step over the threshold into faith. He began praying and seeking strength and direction from the Lord. A bit nervous the Lord said to Pastor Garland “Just trust me.” He later received a word from the Lord saying, “Launch out into the deep.” It was in a dream that the Lord showed Pastor Garland of himself casting a net into the sea catching a multitude of fish. Pastor Garland was led to have services in his home. During the first month of service Pastor and First Lady Garland was led to the KYD Multi-purpose Center at 7725 Barlowe Road, Landover, Maryland. The Lord blessed Pastor Garland to begin service at the KYD Center and later managing the Multipurpose Center business. In October of 1998, Greater Faith Tabernacle began its services at 7725 Barlowe Road, Landover, Maryland 20785. Pastor Garland baptized well over forty souls in the first month of his ministry. The church was named Greater Faith Tabernacle because “The Just Shall Live by Faith.” Since the official opening of Greater Faith Tabernacle Church in October 1998, the Lord has blessed us tremendously. We moved into our new edifice in April 2002 (7713 Barlowe Road, Landover, Maryland), where we currently hold services. |
